Volvo C30

Volvo C30

After weeks of searching for a car that I fit in and met my long list of criteria I ended up with a new Volvo C30. I couldn’t be happier. It’s my first new car ever and I don’t care if the new smell is something toxic, it’s wonderful.

Simmy.

I got to sit in one of these at a car show, and being 6‘4”, I was certainly surprised at how not scrunched I felt. It’s a beaut of a car (especially the floating console). If I had any desire to own a car, the C30 would be near the top of my list.

@mfoster_83 & meeshku Thanks!

@Simmy. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised too. I spent lots of time looking online at different options, and then a lot of time sitting in cars trying to find one with just the right fit. It was between this and a few VW’s. I fit in both of them a lot better than most of the cars I tried, but nothing is really built for 6‘9”. I’ll be honest there really should be better resources out there for those of us who are “vertically gifted”. It took way more work than it should have to buy a car.

Sweet ride, Tom. I saw this car before it was released, and I definitely want one after seeing it in person. Nice pickup.

Hello. In addition to space, what was on your “long list of criteria”?

Shoot, it’s been over a year now, but I wanted something somewhat fuel efficient, but also a little bit fun to drive. I also wanted to be able to haul some stuff and so hatchbacks climbed high up on the list.

And yes, even after a year in I’m totally happy with it. I do regret not getting cruise control. It’s odd that it doesn’t come standard, or at least didn’t. Oh, and I kind of wish I’d have sprung for the iPod adapter stuff. The auxiliary input works, but it’d be nice to able to change songs on the steering wheel.
