The new Tropicana

The new Tropicana

I know a lot of people prefer the old labeling, but I really dig the new Tropicana containers. I love the simple, straight forward messaging, clean use of typography and the use of white space makes it really stand out on the shelf. If only someone would do something similar on the cereal aisle…

Ya know what, it took me for-freaking-ever to figure out which orange juice to get because of the redesign. You’re right, it is much better than the old design, but it certainly made for a lot of head scratching in the OJ aisle.

I like the new design too… How do you feel about the new Pepsi label? I’d say it stands out on the cola isle now.

Tom, I really like the new Total cereal boxes. They’ve probably been around for 8 or 9 months. But I like them for many of the same reasons you’ve listed above: www.totalcereal.com/

Looks like it’s also easy to compare before/after on Amazon, where both are shown: www.amazon.com/s/ref=nbssgw/103-2783806-7320663?initial…

@jgarber Yeah, it took me a second too, but then again, I think that’s a good thing since we were probably going to buy it anyway. This is definitely more eye catching on the orange juice aisle.

@Steven Ray You know, I’m probably in the minority here as well, but I I actually like the new Pepsi labels. I’m not that bent out of shape over the new logo, although I’d have preferred to see them go with something more classic. Still, with all that “blue space” it does stand out. That said, I’m a coke drinker myself!

@worksology Oh right! I forgot about the new Total boxes. Yeah, they’re good, although there’s still quite a bit going on. I’d love to see someone go with a big solid swath of color and just the name of the cereal using it’s traditional font. All the other information could be on the back and side of the box. Think about how stark of a contrast it’d make on that aisle. Sure, after the first brand, it’d be less effective, but why not be the first? When everyone is shouting, sometimes being quite is the best way to be heard.

Agree on Tropicana. On Pepsi, I think the new packaging is great, but I prefer the old logo.

Ooh, that’s nice. Haven’t seen it in stores in Toronto. I like the 100% orange - very eye-catching in a clinical future-sarcastic way.

Interesting that the only text aside from “Tropicana” that is capitalized is “Pulp Free.”

@Jeff Croft I think I’m in agreement there. Thumbs up to the packaging for me, but a more of a thumbs sideways on the new logo.

@Jennie R. F. Yeah, I noticed that and it is a little interesting that the only other thing besides the brand name they choose to capitalize “Pulp Free”. Overall though, I still think it’s great.
