lunch @ the Amani International Coffeehouse & Cafe

Kudos to Terra Jones, owner of the Amani International Coffeehouse & Cafe at 507 Foreland Street (North Side, Pittsburgh, PA). I had a great lunch and chatted with quite a few people @ the cafe as I did so.

Her coffeehouse and cafe is well-worth mentioning and visiting IMHO, it’s a friendly atmosphere, the food is light (NOT Pittsburgh portions) and fresh, there’s ample parking and you definitely get that ‘neighborhood feel‘ when you’re there.

I highly recommend stopping in for lunch or for any of their special events; on Saturdays all this month they are featuring Movie Nights - April Theme: Brazil.

There’s a good article here (Post-Gazette) highliting Tera and her efforts on the North Side by opening the Amani International Coffeehouse & Cafe.

Strawberry cheesecake in a cup? Whoa! Can you elaborate on that?

It does look tasty! Thanks for the report!

nonac.

it was as if they shoved an entire strawberry cheesecake into a tall cup. Layers of fresh strawberries, the filling and the graham cracker crumb-like stuff. I only ate about a 1/3 of it and brought the rest back for one of my co-workers.

I did take it with me, but to recycle it @ home, they do not have recycling set up yet at the coffeehouse/cafe.
