you had me at hasselblad

you had me at hasselblad

I don’t know what it is about these cameras… but I go a little nuts for them. I’ve had a couple of opportunities to borrow a Hasselblad for a day, and each time I found myself walking around dreamily, composing pictures through that lovely viewfinder, my heart actually beating just a bit faster than it normally does. Heck, even scanning in this negative made my heart beat a little faster.

It’s like… it’s like… the camera version of finding your soulmate. Yes, I know that sounds more than a little sentimental.

But I don’t care. I’m in love. ;-) And I think it’s time I officially started a Hasselblad fund for myself. So I will.

This was taken recently, on a short trip out to the beach (primarily to use the Hasselblad out there). I have always loved Fort Stevens, not just for the Peter Iredale and that stretch of beach, but also for the jetty, the battery, the quiet and mossy woods that seem to whisper secrets… in some ways, it feels like going back in time.

I’ve experienced that very feeling in this forest. It’s such an intimate place, isn’t it? This is a lovely, lovely image!

Beautiful dreamy image. sigh… if this is the type of image you can capture I completely agree that you should start a fund :-)
