Are they the shape of their container or is the container the shape of the slices?

true, the pineapple is a naturally cylindrical fruit, but with canned pineapple each slice is exactly the same—they’ve been perfectly shaped in order to fit the container.

this set made me starving. (piña coladas…)

I think there would be a lot of waste on the pineapple just for it to fit a specific size (ie tin). So, for convenience, we create waste.

However, you are an adept photographer and these pics are very nice.

I would imagine that scraps are used in other products.
