the majesty and force of nature are almost always breathtaking. especially, for me, in the form of mountains or large bodies of water.

this trip i was fortunate to enjoy both of them. this was my first peek at the ocean from Cucao. see it larger

the ocean was rolling and roaring. La Paloma tested the water briefly and then reclined a safe distance from the swells for a nap on the beach. i wandered the beach in my bare feet, pants rolled up to the knees, back and forth, back and forth. alternately avoiding and challenging the swells. idly making photographs. the pacific asserted itself in a most dignified manner, graceful and magnificently powerful.
