First impressions of the iPhone 3G S’s new camera: very positive. With focus control like this, it’s hard to believe it’s just a cameraphone. Tap-to-focus is how all cameras ought to work from now on.

WOW! Who would’ve thought a cellular camera could do that? I’ve seen professional cameras that couldn’t get results like that.

Seriously I am really considering iPhone because of this now. With previous gen it felt weird to pay for the phone that has a camera that I will never ever use because it was crap. But now all parts of this phone become so tasty! This is wonderful. And you do great shots, Dave.

That DOF is sweet coming from a mobile phone.

This is quite stunning; maybe it’s just because I’ve never used a phone that hasn’t been from the pre-TREO era, let alone pre-iPhone, but realizing that a phone actually took a shot like that is fantastic.

Beautiful! I fully expect digital SLRs to start using the “touch-to-focus” technique real soon now. Especially since they are already using live view. This is the next step, for sure.

Wow. That’d be a great shot even from a DSLR! Nice work!
