Taken by Danielle Hughson.
The Wreck of the Peter Iredale at Fort Stevens leans persistently into the ocean, as if wanting to return. I am sure that it will, in small pieces, over time.
Taken at sunset with my Zero Image 2000 pinhole. I loved the red-orange glow along the side of the wreck and the deep blues that were coming into play all around it.

Fantastic!
This is what pinhole does so very well, and you use it so wonderfully.

Beautiful. Just lovely. I wish I could get results like this from MY Zero 2000. Sigh…
Anyway, how long was the exposure time & what film did you use? Did you take reciprocity into account?

This is so beautiful…love the tones here

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/monolight] Thank you!
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/dani_irwan] I think the exposure time was around 20 seconds, maybe 30. My exposures that night were anywhere from 15 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on which direction the camera was facing. The light was still pretty strong at this point, so I didn’t adjust any for reciprocity. The film was likely Kodak Portra 160 VC.

I love the stark feeling of this. This is very much like what I was hoping to capture, but could never quite get. This is so awesome.

another great shot… congrats!

Where were you standing, Danielle? By the angle of the ship, it looks like you were in the water… was this taken recently (winter)?

Nice pulled back view of the wreck, something the pinhole seems to do well.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/diegojacob] I was indeed in the water. Well, in the wet sand. I had waited for a wave to come in and go back out, and then I barely managed this exposure before the next wave came racing up and I had to retreat again.

Super!

The color and light are great, but what is amazing to me is the surface texture of the ocean - I would think a long exposure would wipe out any waves (even though they look like ripples here).
DLuker
Really a calming image. The blues and those soft ripples…

Gorgeous reflections and light!

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/22755452@N05] I think that’s because it’s actually the surface of the wet sand, after the last wave went out.

Thanks for the info! Kodak 160VC has little to no reciprocity failure from my experience, certainly not for short exposure times of up to 2 minutes. Anyway, I just love looking at this.
