Wool Spin At Multnomah Falls

Taken by Christopher Renfro.

Wool Spin At Multnomah Falls

Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.

I want to do this again but with a tilted back over the head spin.

This is also when I first realized that twilight presented a very cool window of light painting possibilities. Which happened completely by accident.

Check out Andrew’s shot here.

Bridal Veil, OR, United States

Just awesome! One of my all time fav light painting pics! To give viewers a sense of the immense perspective - how wide was that wool spin?

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/7660616@N05] Thanks. The waterfall in the back in 542ft or 165.25m, both falls combined are 620ft or 189m, and the bridge is 45ft or 13.75m across.

No way! Could you imagine the Parks Service people - “There’s somebody on the bridge letting of firecrackers!” Mad work! Although I’m a little unsure about the environmental impact of such an action.

Great job and location…somehow I suspect the park rangers would be pretty ticked about this…I wish this idea had occurred to me last summer when I was in the region. Yeah, twilight is definitely the best time for steel wool; when the sky is luminescent blue. the eye
