Taken by Danielle Hughson.
Blue, Joey and Bella share a (split second of) moment on a recliner. I can’t tell you how difficult it is to get three dogs to a) sit still for the time it takes to focus a manual film camera and b) be in the same plane of focus when shooting nearly wide open due to dim light. Crazy hard. But this one! This one turned out, and made me laugh when I saw it.
For every animal image I make that turns out, there are two that don’t.
Taken with my Nikon FM.

I don’t think I’d ever own an IG, but I love them. Those are the sweetest faces. A terrific shot, love their album cover pose of all looking in different directions. And I can definitely understand how difficult that focus plane is for shooting at the wide open aperture (really, the best kind) …so kudos.
your mistakes are your style
Fantastic. Only two blown shots for every keeper?
jamie {74}
fantastic. my hero. and on film!
bugeyed_G
Very nicely done!

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/pdb206] Two blown shots, and another handful that simply aren’t interesting. So probably 1 out of 5 or 6 are keepers.
evy2010
They are sweet and gentle.

Whew! I feel better now! If you were going to say that 1/3 of the shots you take turn out this good, I’d be even more amazed than I already am. On a good day, I average 1 out of every 3 or 4. On a bad day…. well… most of my photography is taken during photo walks. There are times when I wander and everything is magic. Other times, I head out and just don’t see it, regardless of what I may be looking for. And! I! Hate! When! That! Happens!
The expressions on their little faces are awesome - especially the one in the middle. So perfectly captured!

oh oh oh so cute quite an accomplishment, i know, to get synchronized doggies
bunchadogs & susan
this would be interesting to convert to b&w and see what happens. fun.

Your success ratio is remarkable! I usually get one out of 200 or so of my kiddos, who move probably as fast as Italian Greyhounds! :)
Terrific image, Dani. I love how one is looking left, right and straight…like Cerberus, the three-headed dog, guarding all directions. Only this trio is decidedly less vicious. :)
matuko amini
love this!

So cute!

Oh I love this! It is SO hard to get them to stop! I swear every time I get the camera out the dogs go wild. They know things ;) Great job, love their expressions. I can imagine how hard this was, awesome job.

Wonderful shot. Love the azur background. Would crop a bit on top and the right.

The serendipity of the symmetry of the three dogs makes this shot. A prime example of wonderful timing of when to trip the shutter. This cannot be had by using a modern whiz-bang device-this is strictly talent given by providence. Well done Danielle! And I am late to the party once again:)
aubujazz
Awesome! The blue blankie was a great choice.

oh they are lovely :) Lol - 1:2 - I think my hit rate would be more 1:12. I’m much better with subjects that don’t move!

dogs are special, like the symmetry in this one

perfect - love the moment caught in this one

Haha, that sounds very hard! This is such a great capture of them. I really like how the two are looking to the side, with the middle one looking right at you.

Aw such cute pups. I love the two heads turned to the side at almost matching angles. It’s like they’re The Supremes and the pup in the middle is Diana Ross. ;)

Heh. Lovely. Somehow so obvious that this moment in time only lasted all of a millionth of a second, too.

Whippets/Italian greyhounds always look guilty or apprehensive. But I appreciate the amount of effort it took to make this look so effortless!
bodiegroup
wow, you’re shooting 1 for 3? that’s a great average… I’m just glad to get 1 shot on a roll.

Love this image! Photographing animals can definitely be a challenge, this is a great capture.

Gah, I am so impressed! I know what you mean about the focusing difficulty and this is simply stunning! These somewhat lucky shots make it all that much more exciting and fun though!
