“There’s very little actual football in a football game.” I rarely record a game since I can’t stand not watching it in real time, but when I do I’m always blown away by how quickly I can skip through it.
I like to start a football game (or any sport, really) about 45 or 60 minutes delayed, so I can fast-forward through non-action (commercials, halftime) up until the final minutes without worrying about Twitter spoilers. I find it takes me at least 45 minutes to watch a full football game, even with skipping the 30-seconds between plays. Football is much more strategic than most sports, because of it’s atomic play-by-play nature, so I enjoy the commentary between plays. I don’t think I’d want to watch a game shorted to 11 minutes.
Yeah, I don’t think I could do 11 minutes either, though if I was a coach required to watch game film I’d probably be more likely to just blaze through tape at a 11 minutes a pop.
