Brought to you by the Number 7

Posted on 07/07/07 at 7 p.m.

If it isn’t readily apparent from my blog title and about page I enjoy the simple number pattern. Not only when the digital clock reads 1:10 or 12:34 (one, two, three, four) but also with dates, and today is a great one, 07/07/07. It just screams head to Vegas and hit the slots to me, but I’m going to have to settle for a brief smile on my face and the thought that it won’t happen for another thousand years.

The last time I have a distinct memory of something like this was when my cousin was about to be born. She was expected on 8/8/88 which I thought would have been awesome even though I was only eight. She just missed it being born a day later, but she’s still pretty cool regardless… ha!

Anyone else have any fun number patterns they like?

(Oh, and if you didn’t notice this post was posted at 7 p.m. to make it even that much more dorky.)

Boeing decided to be a little “dorky” and rollout the new 787 Dreamliner today on 07/08/07.

I am glad I am still cool, regardless of the fact that I don’t have an awesome birthday…a birthday I still wish I had.

I’ve always liked my birthday, 10/01 and my apartment number is 123 the phone number my family had growing up was the same forward as backwards. You know what date will be cool in about 4 years? 11/11/11

Steve: You just went to a new level of dorky, but I totally dig it.

my birthday is on 12/21, and one of my friends has the numbers 04-05-09 in a row on “an important number” (read ssn or driver’s license, etc.); which one i forget.

if interested in other really amazing number connections, read the da vinci code and angels and demons. besides an interesting story line, both contain a multitude of neat connections in the world and universe; whether coincidental or otherwise is up to the reader to decide for themselves.

Okay, one more, then I’m done. You’ll appreciate this. I posted it a couple weeks ago: http://www.virb.com/sourjayne/photos/620668

I flew on a 777 plane on 7/7/07 and made a point of writing about it in my journal. I’m glad there are other people celebrating cool number days with me (the magic was lost on the guy sitting next to me…).

Korey, one of my best friends, counts everything subconsciously. He hates it whenever I talk about it, but I think it’s so cool. He likes to share his new found information with me though. It takes 42 steps to get from the main doorway to our dorm room. There are 36 half-pipes hanging from the auditorium ceiling, 4 vents over the stage, so on and so forth.

As for me, I’ve always liked the number 3. 3 subjects in a picture work wonders. Good basic photo composition is divided in thirds.. I think I’ll stop right there.
